The 5 Amêndoas restaurant, on the ground floor of Vitória Stone Hotel, is a city restaurant where the Alentejo flavours are presented in a contemporary way.
Tradition dictates that on the day of the wedding a good Best Man should gift each guest five almonds, each representing a vow: health, longevity, fertility, happiness, and prosperity. By choosing this name for the restaurant (five almonds), we wanted to pay tribute to one of the region’s traditions.
Connected to the lobby, 5 Amêndoas spreads through the ground floor, with tables winding along the room, facing the street. It doubles as a city restaurant, and that is how we like to introduce ourselves. We guarantee the presence of the Alentejo essence in how we choose our ingredients, most of them sourced from local producers: olive oils, cheeses (that taste great breaded and grilled!), meats, and herbs. Black pork (“plumas”, made with very tender pork meat, is one of our most famous dishes) and Mértola beef are regulars on the menu, paired with local wines. For dessert, the convent trilogy reminds us that this is the capital of Alentejo.
